NewsWARDOGS Season 3 is coming early: BULKHEAD says Season 2 progression ran too fast
On 17 October BULKHEAD called Season 2's faster progression the wrong call and said it is looking at bringing Season 3 forward significantly. No reset this weekend and no date yet.

On 17 October 2026, two days into Season 2, BULKHEAD posted an announcement on X. The studio says it sped up progression on purpose and that this was the wrong call: some players reached Tier 4 armour and main battle tanks within days, so the wipe never felt like a fresh start.
What BULKHEAD announced#
- No knee-jerk reset this weekend. The studio says it would be unfair to players already levelling up.
- Season 3, and part of its content, is to arrive "significantly" earlier, so that everyone gets a proper fresh start.
- Changes that are clearly out of balance will be fixed during Season 2. Changes that split the community will be left to play out first.
- More details are promised in a dev vlog this week.
There is no Season 3 date and no new end date for Season 2. Before launch the developers named a target of about six weeks for the season. That target is now shorter, but nobody has said by how much.
Why the wipe did not land#
Every role needs 111,500 XP for level 20 this season, and the gear players complain about sits at or near that mark:
| Unlock | Level | Unlock cost |
|---|---|---|
| $250,000 | ||
| $300,000 | ||
| $22,500 | ||
| $25,000 | ||
| $200,000 |
An
M4 with a 60-round magazine and the multi-calibre suppressor needs assault level 30, not 40. Level 4 Armor still unlocks at Wardog level 100, but the Wardog level is the sum of all six role levels, so it comes quickly when every role levels fast.
Drivers had it worst on day one. The 15 October backend update already removed the Lonestar bonus, slowed Driver XP back to the Season 1 pace and closed a logistics exploit. The other roles keep the faster curve, and the progression tracker uses it.
What stays until Season 3#
The Season 2 balance pass is not being rolled back. Pilots feel it most:
- .308 Win base damage dropped from 60 to 45 (−25%). This also applies to the AH-6M, Z20 Lakota and Humvee miniguns.
- The
AH-6M [Miniguns] unlocks at
4 → 8 for $125,000 instead of $50,000, and costs $12,000 to buy instead of $7,000. It takes more kills to pay for itself. - Parachutes take longer to open and will not open below about 10 m. The
Basic Parachute costs $500 instead of $100. - Delivering a passenger pays $100 base instead of $150. Older pilot guides still use the Season 1 numbers.
Limited Mode servers without power weapons and vehicles are still planned for the mid-season update. Every other price and unlock change is on What changed in Season 2.
Not confirmed yet#
- How long Season 2 will last. A two-to-three-week season is a community guess, not a BULKHEAD figure.
- Night maps in Season 3. No official post mentions them.
- Gunsmith, Intel and skills that survive wipes: the concept is confirmed, the timing is not. See what we know.
