NewsWARDOGS Season 2: Everything We Know Before Launch
Season 2 kicks off October 15: a wipe, rain and storms on the maps, four new weapons and a big balance pass. Here's what's confirmed, what's only planned and which rumors are still just rumors.

Confirmed changes, official long-term plans and rumors that shouldn't yet be treated as Season 2 content. This article is accurate as of October 8, 2026; Season 2 launches on October 15, 2026.
The Short Version#
Season 2 will be the first major update since Early Access took off. It brings a full reset of seasonal progression, rainy map variants, new gear and a sweeping balance overhaul. The developers have also announced four new weapons — one each for Assault, Medic, Support and Recon.
- Launch date — October 15. The exact time and maintenance window haven't been announced yet.
- Progression — full wipe. Cash, levels and XP will be reset; Gold Bars and cosmetics carry over.
- Content — 4 weapons. One new weapon for each of the four combat roles.
- Battle conditions — rain and storms. Weather is set for the match in advance and doesn't change mid-game.
The golden rule of this article: a feature being on the roadmap doesn't mean it's coming on October 15. Plans and rumors are broken down separately below.
What's Actually Confirmed for Season 2#
- Seasonal reset. Money and level progress start from scratch. Any leftover Cash will be automatically converted into Gold Bars at the current rate. Cosmetics bought with Gold Bars stay on your account.
- Rainy map conditions. Matches start with the weather already set. There won't be a sudden switch from sunshine to a storm mid-fight.
- Four new weapons. The new arrivals are split between Assault, Medic, Support and Recon. Recon is getting an M14-based rifle, though its in-game name may differ.
- New ammo and gear. The full list hasn't been revealed yet.
- Balance overhaul. The focus is on the late season, heavy armor, the economy, vehicles and overly efficient XP farming methods.
- IR Rangefinder with batteries. After being temporarily pulled from the shop, the rangefinder returns with a limited power supply.
Rumors and Long-Term Plans#
A Fourth Map#
Official plan, no date.
Before release, the studio said Early Access would launch with three maps and that a fourth was already in production. That makes a new map a real project rather than community wishful thinking.
However, the Season 2 description uses the phrase "new map conditions." That fits rain and storms and doesn't, by itself, imply new locations. The fourth map's name, setting and release date have not been announced.
WardogsXP verdict: a new map during Early Access is very likely; a release on October 15 specifically is unlikely for now.
Flakpanzer Gepard and New Vehicles#
No specific vehicle confirmed.

Flakpanzer Gepard
Heavy Armored Vehicle
$10,000
Seasonal vehicle rotation is part of the stated approach: new vehicles will be added, and some older ones will temporarily leave the catalog. So expecting new vehicles in Season 2 makes sense.
The Gepard became the top candidate thanks to pre-release builds. In the old catalog it was listed as an armored anti-aircraft vehicle, cost roughly 8–10k Cash and unlocked deep into overall progression. It's absent from Season 1, and air vehicles currently have a big impact on the meta — which only fuels expectations further.
Still, the studio didn't show the Gepard in the season trailer and didn't list it among the October additions. The old data only proves that the vehicle was in the works, not when it will return.
WardogsXP verdict: the Gepard may well come back later, but counting it as part of Season 2 is premature.
Molotov or Incendiary Grenade#
Weak visual speculation.
In a short teaser, fire can be seen inside one of the buildings. That sparked theories about a Molotov, an incendiary grenade or a new fire-spread system.
The shot doesn't show a throw, an item model or fire interacting with the environment. It could be a staged effect, a burning object or plain set dressing. There's no other evidence so far.
WardogsXP verdict: an interesting theory, but there isn't enough proof. Treat it as player speculation only.
Player Skills#
Confirmed Early Access system.
Skills are meant to provide persistent progression on top of seasonal resets. Each skill grows through related actions: healing and reviving teammates levels up the medical track, using mobility develops physical abilities, and working with vehicles and weapons may build separate specializations.
The developers compared the idea to RuneScape: you get better at what you do regularly. The key difference from regular levels is that skills are expected to persist through wipes.
There's no full skill list, level cap or release date. So Skills shouldn't be counted among Season 2 features until they're confirmed separately.
Intel and Gunsmith#
Concept confirmed, timing unknown.
Intel is designed as a third resource alongside Cash and XP. Cash drives the moment-to-moment economy, XP pushes seasonal levels, and Intel is supposed to unlock deeper layers of the meta-game.
The first known use for Intel is Gunsmith. Instead of just moving from one ready-made rifle to the next, players will be able to develop a weapon platform: unlocking stocks, trigger groups and other internal components. A single base will be able to turn into several weapon variants.
It's unknown exactly how Intel is earned, whether it survives a wipe and when Gunsmith will open up. Judging by the developers' comments, a prototype already exists but isn't ready to be shown publicly.
Black Market and Vault#
Official part of the future meta-game.
The Black Market is meant to be an out-of-match marketplace, while the Vault is a personal storage for items and vehicles obtained through the meta-game, rewards or special purchases.
Some parts of the Vault are already visible in the UI and are used for external rewards, but the full rules haven't been published. Still unknown: the Black Market's selection, Vault capacity, expansion cost, whether items can be resold and what happens to unused items during a wipe.
Don't confuse the Black Market with the Gold Market: the latter already works as a shop for permanent cosmetics, while the former is planned as a deeper gameplay system.
Season 2 Length#
Direction confirmed.
Season 2 is also planned to be relatively short. The studio needs another quick cycle to test the new progression and fix the fallout of the late-season meta.
There's no fixed standard for season length: a season could last a month, six weeks or several months. Longer cycles are expected starting around Season 3, once balance settles down.
There's no official end date for Season 2. Guesses about a January start for Season 3 are based on calendar math and the team's December holiday break, not on any published schedule.
Final Verdict#
- Confirmed for October 15: the wipe, rain, four weapons, new gear and a big balance pass.
- Officially in the works: a fourth map, Skills, Intel, Gunsmith, the Black Market and a full Vault.
- Likely, but unconfirmed: new vehicles and the return of some pre-release vehicles.
- Pure community theory: the Gepard in Season 2 specifically and incendiary weapons based on a single shot of fire.
Until the full changelog is published, any specific vehicle names, exact unlock levels and dates for future systems should be considered tentative.
