Paste the Mark Coordinates of your gun and targets, dial the azimuth and elevation, then correct by where the shell landed. Easier still: click them on the map.

In game, right-click the map and choose Mark Coordinates, copy the chat line and paste it here. Ctrl+V works anywhere on the page: the first paste places the gun, the next ones add targets.

Correct the fall of shot

Mark where the shell landed and the aim moves back by the miss, or nudge it by hand.

Lock turns the correction into a mil and azimuth offset of this gun, so later targets get it too — useful when the gun itself is off (a tilted hull).

Quick answers

What is the range of the L81 mortar?

The L81 sight dials 150 to 850 mil, which reaches 132 to 684 m on level ground. A target closer than 132 m is out of reach, so move the mortar back.

What are the SPH-2 low and high arcs?

The low arc uses 20 to 600 mil and reaches 1,181 to 2,629 m. The high arc uses 610 to 1390 mil and reaches 780 to 2,629 m, with a longer flight. Between 1,181 and 2,629 m both arcs land on the target. Park on flat ground and stabilise before firing, and fire a ranging shot: the SPH-2 table is approximate.

How do I read mils?

The azimuth is the compass heading from your gun to the target in degrees; turn the barrel to it. The elevation is in mils, the number you dial on the sight. On the L81 more mils means a steeper, shorter shot: 850 mil lands about 132 m away and 150 mil about 684 m.

How do I paste Mark Coordinates?

In game, right-click the map and choose Mark Coordinates, copy the chat line and press Ctrl+V on the calculator page. The first paste places your gun and every later one adds a target; a copied chat log with several lines adds them all at once. It reads lines like x100.05, y109.14 or X: 95.85 Y: 109.08 as well as two plain numbers. One map unit is 100 m.

How do I correct a shot that missed?

Under Spotter correction, mark where the shell landed and the aim moves back by the miss, or nudge it closer, further, left or right by 10, 25, 50 or 100 m. Lock for every target turns that correction into an elevation and azimuth offset of the gun, so later targets get it too.

Does the calculator account for height?

Yes. On the map calculator the terrain gives the ground height of the gun and every target, and the elevation is solved for that height difference from the game files; the flat-table value stays beside it for reference. Add a height above ground for a roof or tower, or tap On the roof when the point is on a building. The shell path is also checked against the terrain and the buildings, and the 3D view shows it over the relief. In the coordinate calculator pick the map under Terrain from map, or choose None and type the ground ΔZ yourself; left empty, the shot is solved as level ground.
